I haven't posted here in awhile. I think I'm going to try starting to post here again. It helps me remember when I've done what and when.

Max has been in VBS this week. He has really been having a good time and it turns out he already knew some of the kids when he got there. I was very surprised at the HUGEness of Calvary Baptist. I mean the VBS check in on the first day looked like some kind of major convention. When I went to drop him off at the worship center I was greeted by flat screen TVs with a rotating "Outrigger Island VBS 2008" logo, a huge volcano on the stage, and TONS of kids from 4 years old up to 5th grade. He comes home telling William what he learned. I swear I don't think he could get any cuter if he tried. The boys and I went to the zoo today. It was hot on a stupid level. I guess it is a good thing they have a water play area. Kim and I carpooled which is nice since gas is $4.00 a gallon. The boys fed a giraffe and the birds, which made them happy, that and the running around in the water. It was fun, but I was glad to get back into my air conditioned car. Well, another busy day this summer. First we went to see The Veggie Tales: Pirates Who Don't Do Anything at the free Regal Summer Camp movie. It was very cute. Both boys really seemed to like it. Today was the last day of Cub Scout Camp. Max has had such a great time! We were able to go and get them a little early to see them get thier awards. Max earned a Junior USA Shooting Team badge for all of those bulls eyes. I must mention here that not ALL of the kids earned this. He also completed a big chunk of things for his Wolf badge for next year. They got to have water play at the end of the day and had a great time. So, Max went fishing again today. He also made a "fossil" out of plaster of paris. He is having so much fun he said he wanted to stay two weeks. Oh well, next year. So Max was back at the range today shooting BB guns. He hit a bulls eye, and close to a bulls eye on the practice shot. So I guess Max is a good marksman, of course his dad is taking credit for that. He also made a leather necklace with a Wolf Scout symbol and his name. He said that was cool since he had a big area with lots of tools and paint to make the necklace. Also, he got a swimming lesson, I think that's awesome! So apparently Max shot arrows and went fishing yesterday. When he came home he told me how much he liked archery. He was VERY excited about it. Now, when I went to drop him off this morning, his den leader told me he was very good. He hit the target every time AND he got one of the only three bulls eyes. How cool is that? Max started Cub Scout Camp yesterday. He LOVED, loved, loved it! He got to go swimming and do crafts, hike and meet new friends. The theme is "Blast from the Past" and there are various time periods depicted on the camp t-shirt. It is BRIGHT green and very cute, which is good since he has to wear it everyday. He did a rubbing of the Liberty Bell. I started a photo blog yesterday, just because. If you're interested it's at titaniaphoto.livejournal.com I will be trying to post one photo day. It will usually be from the previous day, but some will be "archive" photos. I have so many photos, I just wanted to do something fun with them. Um excuse me, but where did this school year go? It seems like Max was just starting first grade and now he has less than two weeks left. Mother's Day was just fantastic this year. I slept in, went to the park with my kids and then was taken out for an imcredible meal. I sent my mom flowers this year. She was so surprised, she didn't even think for a moment that they were hers. After she told me that I felt a bang of guilt about the fact that she couldn't imagine I would send her flowers (mental note, more flowers to mom). I also sent my mom-in-law flowers, she loved them as well as the glass dish they in which they were arranged. And of course I helped Little Max pick out flowers for When I began to stay at home during the day I just knew that certain things would happen all the time. I knew I would always have a clean house, clean laundry, and plenty of time to excersice and eat right. As each week has rolled by, this has been true sometimes, but sometimes not as much. Each week I say, yes things have been a bit off, but once I have THIS done, it will be all back to normal and I can get everything perfect in my house. Max is on Spring Break starting Monday. So I have planned the second annual Spring Break Extravaganza... Monday - IHOP Horton Hears a Who breakfast with school friends, then the Horton Hears a Who movie, Tuesday - Beach day, Wednesday - Planet Jump, Thursday - day trip to Downtown Disney for some lunch and pin trading, Friday - Go see Nim's Island, Saturday - develop pictures from the week and put together a photo album for Max to bring to school Monday. :-) So, I went into work on Wednesday night to find out that half of the server staff had been fired for stealing (lovely). Now it is me and two other very tired servers working all of the shifts. I am pretty much going to be living there until he hires on another couple of people. That's fine, it means more money, it's just a little tiring. I have to miss the club meeting this weekend now, but at least they are meeting close to the house so I can hang out after I get off. Ah well, it will all work out eventually. Well, I am half way through the first week without the day job, and it has been much busier than I thought it would be, I have had errands to run, and eye appointment, Max had a play date with Raymond, Max's Astro Skate field trip, Mom and Dad were over, whew. Any way today was my first day with out "plans" so William and I went for a long walk checked out the library did a little yard work, and then he laid down for his nap. Now it is time to tackle the kitchen. I am trying to "catch up" on my house work one thing at a time. Monday I did laundry all day, so all I have to do now is the previous day's clothes. One thing at a time, I'll get there... eventually. The countdown has begun for the departure of my day job. I am sad to leave because I will miss the nice people I have met here, yet I am anxious to leave because I am going to be spending more time with the kids. I worked about 20 hours over this last weekend and now I have at least another 20 more facing me at the restaurant plus my 40 hours at Southern, so that is another reason I will be glad to leaving the day job. I will be training the new girl, which I think is cool, it means that Annie thinks I am doing well enough to teach some one how I do things. I think I may be killing myself, either that or I am just old and out of shape. Maybe if I fix the out of shape, I will feel less like I am old. I worked Friday at Southern Lock. then worked Fridat night at the restaurant, pulled a double yesterday, and now I am going off to work brunch. Last night my free glass of wine was larger than usual since John was not around, and now I am feeling that as well. Oh well as my mom always told me, "No matter how much beer we snuck off in the snow from Dad on Saturday, we ALWAYS went to church Sunday morning!" Words of wisdom mom style, go out and party, but live up to your responsibilities. Last night was an unusually melodramatic night at the Schoenfeld home. I went to pick up William from daycare and got the lovely news he has not been listening and of all things spitting! Not on people thank heavens, just on the floor. After a long conversation about how we never ever spit on anyone or anything, William spit on the floor as we were coming in the door. That earned hima spanking and a time out in which he totally freaked out. He got out of time out and calmed down just in time for Dad and Max to come home. |
