I haven't posted here in awhile. I think I'm going to try starting to post here again. It helps me remember when I've done what and when.

Max has been in VBS this week.  He has really been having a good time and it turns out he already knew some of the kids when he got there.  I was very surprised at the HUGEness of Calvary Baptist.  I mean the VBS check in on the first day looked like some kind of major convention.  When I went to drop him off at the worship center I was greeted by flat screen TVs with a rotating "Outrigger Island VBS 2008" logo, a huge volcano on the stage, and TONS of kids from 4 years old up to 5th grade.  He comes home telling William what he learned.  I swear I don't think he could get any cuter if he tried.

The boys and I went to the zoo today.  It was hot on a stupid level. I guess it is a good thing they have a water play area.  Kim and I carpooled which is nice since gas is $4.00 a gallon.  The boys fed a giraffe and the birds, which made them happy, that and the running around in the water.  It was fun, but I was glad to get back into my air conditioned car.

Well, another busy day this summer.  First we went to see The Veggie Tales: Pirates Who Don't Do Anything at the free Regal Summer Camp movie.  It was very cute.  Both boys really seemed to like it.

Then, thank you very much to June, we went ice skating for free.  The boys each got a half hour lesson.  However, I totally spaced on the whole ice, it will be cold thing.  Fortunately, I had a sweat outfit for William hanging out in the car, but poor Max got stuck with one of my jackets and no pants.  But, he still really had a good time.

Today was the last day of Cub Scout Camp.  Max has had such a great time!  We were able to go and get them a little early to see them get thier awards.  Max earned a Junior USA Shooting Team badge for all of those bulls eyes.  I must mention here that not ALL of the kids earned this.  He also completed a big chunk of things for his Wolf badge for next year.  They got to have water play at the end of the day and had a great time.

So, Max went fishing again today.  He also made a "fossil" out of plaster of paris.  He is having so much fun he said he wanted to stay two weeks.  Oh well, next year.

Here is a the lake where Max goes fishing.

So Max was back at the range today shooting BB guns.  He hit a bulls eye, and close to a bulls eye on the practice shot.  So I guess Max is a good marksman, of course his dad is taking credit for that.    He also made a leather necklace with a Wolf Scout symbol and his name.  He said that was cool since he had a big area with lots of tools and paint to make the necklace.  Also, he got a swimming lesson, I think that's awesome!

So apparently Max shot arrows and went fishing yesterday. When he came home he told me how much he liked archery.  He was VERY excited about it.  Now, when I went to drop him off this morning, his den leader told me he was very good.  He hit the target every time AND he got one of the only three bulls eyes.  How cool is that?

Max started Cub Scout Camp yesterday. He LOVED, loved, loved it!  He got to go swimming and do crafts, hike and meet new friends.   The theme is "Blast from the Past" and there are various time periods depicted on the camp t-shirt.  It is BRIGHT green and very cute, which is good since he has to wear it everyday.  He did a rubbing of the Liberty Bell.

He got some dirt in his eye, and the nurse called, but said he didn't want to leave. I asked if she thought he needed a doctor, she said no just a cold compress when he got home.  So, I said fine, when he got home it was red, but after some ice it looked better, and after he got up this morning it was fine.

The true sign that he loved it there was he went over and BIG hugged his den leader as soon as he got out of the car this morning.  I am so glad he is having fun!

I started a photo blog yesterday, just because.  If you're interested it's at titaniaphoto.livejournal.com  I will be trying to post one photo day.  It will usually be from the previous day, but some will be "archive" photos.  I have so many photos, I just wanted to do something fun with them.

Um excuse me, but where did this school year go?  It seems like Max was just starting first grade and now he has less than two weeks left.

Max has been participating in the Spirit Week dress up days.  Monday - Sports day - He wore his soccer jersey, Tuesday Hat Day - He wore his cowboys hat, Wednesday - Hawaii Day - He wore his flowered swim trunks and his Aloha Malt shop shirt. Thursday - Mis Match Day - He is wearing a bright Yu-Gi-Oh shirt, mis-matched socks, and lots of beads, Friday - Patritisom Day - I got him a HUGE flag Hat to wear. :-)

It has been busy this week, we had a field trip to the Tarpon Springs Aquarium on Tuesday and 3R All-Star on Wednesday.

The aquarium was really fun.  It is just a small slightly cheesy tourist aquarium.  However, the staff had a great program for the kids.  It included a touch tank, an alligator feeding, letting the kids feed the sting rays, and a shark feeding show.  William was so good and listened to everything.  All the kids seemed to have fun.

On Wednesday was 3R All-Star (only for kids that made 3R all year).  Only 6 of the 20 kids in Max's class made 3R All-Star (Max was one of them).  We had a fun luau party and the kids got treats and a medal.  Max thought it was awesome.  Another thing Max thought was awesome was the fact I let him come home with me after the party.

I am sad and excited to see this year end.  Sad, because it went too fast and excited because we are going to have a great summer.

Mother's Day was just fantastic this year. I slept in, went to the park with my kids and then was taken out for an imcredible meal. I sent my mom flowers this year. She was so surprised, she didn't even think for a moment that they were hers. After she told me that I felt a bang of guilt about the fact that she couldn't imagine I would send her flowers (mental note, more flowers to mom). I also sent my mom-in-law flowers, she loved them as well as the glass dish they in which they were arranged. And of course I helped Little Max pick out flowers for [info]auroara . It was a very flowery Mother's Day at my house. I however did not get flowers, but the repair of [info]cptmax's broken Blackberry Pearl and a data plan, we really are such geeks.

Of course I got some wonderful presents from my boys as well. William made me a candle holder that was covered in colored tissue paper. Max made me a lovely photo frame. I put a photo from a pre-William Christmas in there. They also both made me cars. My mother-in-law got me a bag of goodies and [info]auroara sent me a card that made me misty-eyed. Oh and of course my present from my boss was being off (without asking) on a day we had 60 reservations at the restaurant.

When I began to stay at home during the day I just knew that certain things would happen all the time.  I knew I would always have a clean house, clean laundry, and plenty of time to excersice and eat right.  As each week has rolled by, this has been true sometimes, but sometimes not as much.  Each week I say, yes things have been a bit off, but once I have THIS done, it will be all back to normal and I can get everything perfect in my house.

Well, yesterday, in an effort to help clean things up, I had the house a total disaster.  It didn't make sense to me to clean it all up before Max got home.  When Max got home he didn't say anything, but he looked annoyed.  It was at that moment I realized, things are never going to be perfect.  I will strive to do my best every week to keep the house harmonious, but THINGS happen.  Sometimes I get tired from working until midnight and the house doesn't get cleaned, or William is fussy so I take him to the library and I don't have time to do the dishes.  That is life.  I will strive for domestic perfection, but just as it is with perfection in any other area of my life, striving for it, does not mean I will always achieve it.  I think I just need to be more realistic about that.

Max is on Spring Break starting Monday.  So I have planned the second annual Spring Break Extravaganza... Monday - IHOP Horton Hears a Who breakfast with school friends, then the Horton Hears a Who movie, Tuesday - Beach day, Wednesday - Planet Jump, Thursday - day trip to Downtown Disney for some lunch and pin trading, Friday - Go see Nim's Island, Saturday - develop pictures from the week and put together a photo album for Max to bring to school Monday. :-)

So, I went into work on Wednesday night to find out that half of the server staff had been fired for stealing (lovely).  Now it is me and two other very tired servers working all of the shifts.  I am pretty much going to be living there until he hires on another couple of people.  That's fine, it means more money, it's just a little tiring.  I have to miss the club meeting this weekend now, but at least they are meeting close to the house so I can hang out after I get off.  Ah well, it will all work out eventually.

Current Mood: sleepy sleepy

Well, I am half way through the first week without the day job, and it has been much busier than I thought it would be, I have had errands to run, and eye appointment, Max had a play date with Raymond,  Max's Astro Skate field trip, Mom and Dad were over, whew.  Any way today was my first day with out "plans" so William and I went for a long walk checked out the library did a little yard work, and then he laid down for his nap.  Now it is time to tackle the kitchen.  I am trying to "catch up" on my house work one thing at a time.  Monday I did laundry all day, so all I have to do now is the previous day's clothes.  One thing at a time, I'll get there... eventually.

As for my evening job, let's just say St. Patrick's Day was VERY good to me.  Every other night I have worked has been pretty good, so because of the holiday I have had more money than expected, which is nice.  Hey I paid some bills! I also have my last check from the old day job coming Friday, that will also help toward getting some past due bills paid.  If I keep this up I may be able to pay my bills on that silly due date that is on the bill.

Current Mood: complacent complacent

The countdown has begun for the departure of my day job.  I am sad to leave because I will miss the nice people I have met here, yet I am anxious to leave because I am going to be spending more time with the kids.  I worked about 20 hours over this last weekend and now I have at least another 20 more facing me at the restaurant plus my 40 hours at Southern, so that is another reason I will be glad to leaving the day job.   I will be training the new girl, which I think is cool, it means that Annie thinks I am doing well enough to teach some one how I do things.

I think I may be killing myself, either that or I am just old and out of shape.  Maybe if I fix the out of shape, I will feel less like I am old.  I worked Friday at Southern Lock. then worked Fridat night at the restaurant, pulled a double yesterday, and now I am going off to work brunch.  Last night my free glass of wine was larger than usual since John was not around, and now I am feeling that as well.  Oh well as my mom always told me, "No matter how much beer we snuck off in the snow from Dad on Saturday, we ALWAYS went to church Sunday morning!"  Words of wisdom mom style, go out and party, but live up to your responsibilities.

Last night was an unusually melodramatic night at the Schoenfeld home.  I went to pick up William from daycare and got the lovely news he has not been listening and of all things spitting!  Not on people thank heavens, just on the floor.  After a long conversation about how we never ever spit on anyone or anything, William spit on the floor as we were coming in the door. That earned hima spanking and a time out in which he totally freaked out.  He got out of time out and calmed down just in time for Dad and Max to come home.

When they walked in the door Max was crying because the Cub Scout meeting was rescheduled due to the fact that everyone (except Max and Nicholas) has cancelled.  I finally got Max to calm down and went to get them their supper.

No sooner do I leave the room and I hear the boys fighting over a blanket in the living room.  They were both once again very upset.  I decided they were both tired.  I fed them, put William in the tub, put him to bed and did the same with Max.  They were both in bed early, but both quieted down early and they are still sleeping.

They must of both had insomnia last night because I know when I go in there and wake them up now, they will both be my lovely little boys again.
